Love and Lacerations

from Love and Lacerations by The Hostiles

lyrics

I am contending with your clouded thoughts. You’re seeing red which means we’re past the point of talk. It can be so unnecessary…with way you put yourself out
every time we disagree. My world is on a razors edge. You’re throwing knives at me like there is no consequence… and I know it’s just the way you feel right now. I can’t stop you cutting deep. I can’t stop the bleeding out. It’s just another love laceration. Keep taking stabs at me but phone an ambulance when you’re done. It starts off angry over something small. A stupid spat turns to blood splatter on the walls. You can be so unforgiving. I’m afraid to put my neck out for fear of severing. My world is on a razors edge. You’re throwing knives at me like there is no consequence. Who knew you had such scathing words? Is this the hell I deserve? Don’t wait. I’m feeling drained. The loss of blood is getting to me. White as sheet. I’m feeling weak waiting for cold sweet death to come for me and put me out of my misery.

Spirited and infectious, they combine distorted guitars riffs, low-slung rhythms, in-your-face vocals and a two-pronged brass backbone of trumpet and trombone. Good times guaranteed. ... more
